Data Policy

Scope

This policy covers the data created when you learn with Santi Tutor. The Privacy Policy covers personal data generally; this document is the detailed view of lessons, uploads and usage.

What counts as lesson data

• The topic, level and class length you chose, and the outline you approved.
• Everything the tutor said and drew: the board, the narration audio and its transcript.
• Your questions, whether typed, spoken (the recording and its transcript) or attached as an image.
• Quiz questions, your answers and the tutor's marking.
• PDF materials you upload to a Study Space, and the processed version the tutor reads.

Data flow for a single lesson

• You choose a topic. We send it, with your level, region and class length, to the AI model to produce an outline.
• You approve or revise the outline. The approved outline is used to generate the lesson step by step.
• Each step's explanation is sent to a text-to-speech model to produce the tutor's voice, and the board actions are drawn in your browser.
• When you ask a question, the question and the current lesson context are sent to the model, and the answer is drawn and spoken in the same way.
• The lesson, board, audio and transcript are saved to your account so you can replay it. Credits used are recorded against your balance.

What we do not do

• We do not sell lesson data or share it with advertisers.
• We do not use your lessons to train AI models, and our providers' terms do not allow them to either.
• We do not show your lessons to other users unless you create a public replay link.
• We do not record your microphone unless you press the record button.

How we improve the service

We look at aggregate signals such as which subjects are most requested, how long lessons run and where errors happen. We also read feedback and bug reports you send us, which may include the lesson they relate to, so we can reproduce the problem.

Shared lessons

Creating a public replay link publishes a read-only replay of that lesson at a santitutor.com/share address. Anyone with the link can watch it without signing in. You can revoke it at any time from the lesson's Share lesson dialog, after which the link stops working.

Institution data

Where an institution provides Santi Tutor to its learners, the institution decides what is collected and for how long, and can see usage for its own learners. Those arrangements are set out in the institution's agreement with us.

Service providers

We use a small set of providers to run the service: Google (Firebase Authentication, Firebase Analytics, Gemini models and text-to-speech), cloud hosting for the web app and API, and Lemon Squeezy for payments. Each is bound by terms covering confidentiality, security and deletion. Contact us if you need the current list in writing.

Retention and deletion

• Delete a lesson from Lesson History and it is removed from your account. It may persist in backups for up to 30 days.
• Delete a study material and the file and its processed version are removed.
• Removing a Study Space from your account does not by itself erase the data it held. Ask us if you want it purged.
• To delete your whole account and all lesson data, email privacy@santitutor.com from the address on the account. Records we must keep for tax or legal reasons are retained for as long as the law requires.

Getting your data out

Any lesson's board can be exported to PDF or PNG from the lesson's Export board button. For a full copy of your account data, email privacy@santitutor.com and we will send you an archive.
